Denakil Depression and Erta Ale
The Denakil Depression is found in the north eastern part of the country. The depression is officially recorded as hottest place on earth, with an average temperature of 34 to 350C.The area is one of the lowest places in Africa 116 meter below sea level at Dallol and consider as the driest and most tectonically active area in the planet.
The most regularly visited volcanic range in the Denakil is Erta -Ale, which consist of seven active peaks extending over an area of 2350 km2. Erta Ale is listed as the most active volcano in Africa, having hosted a permanent lava lake.

Day 1. Arrival and transfer to your hotel
Day 2. Drive to Awash National Park and game drive. Over night camping at Awash
Day 3. Drive to Semera, en route Yangudi Rasa National park and one of Afar village around Gewane. Over night hotel
Day 4. Drive from Semera to Afdera via Serdo ,in the afternoon visit the lake Afdera and its surrounding salt farms. Over night camping at lake Afdera
Day 5. Drive from Afdera to Dodom village. In the afternoon climb the Erta Ale active Volcano by camel and in the night visit the Erta Ale volcanic lava activity. Over night camping at Erta Ale
Day 6. Down Erta Ale to Dodom village met your vehicle and continue driving to Waydodo village. Over night camping
Day 7. Drive from Waydodo village to Hamed Ella. Over night camping
Day 8. Drive from Hamed Ella to Dallol en route visit lake Asale known for its salt rocks and Dallol[ the lowest place in Ethiopia ] with colourful ground, then back to Hamed Ella. Over night camping
Day 9. Drive from Hamed Ella to Mekelle through Berhaile. Over night hotel in Mekelle
Day 10.Fly back to Addis Ababa . In the afternoon sightseeing of Addis Ababa and transfer to airport for departure.
